Little girl turns Big girl

Kayden turned 7 in November (so I am only a month behind). She had a few close friends to spend the night and then she got to see her Grandmama and PawPaw from TN. I think she had a good birthday. Here are a few things I want to remember about her at 7... She is very thoughtful. She want to make people cards all the time. She has lost her top two front teeth now and she is adorable. Not so much with just one front tooth hanging out. She likes to be organized like me. Her sense of humor is very unique. She makes me laugh at the most random times and the things she says I just don't expect. She LOVES to cheer at GCS. She takes it very seriously and does great. She also loves to participate in gymnastics. She is into her own thing and she makes me very proud. She got first place in Bible Bowl at school last week. I started making her wear deodorant recently. Ha ha! She is still picky about her clothes. It is the texture and feeling of them not the actual coolness of them. She is very different when it comes to that. So, she doesn't have a lot to clothes. And, I am very thankful she wears uniforms to school, so we don't fight daily about what she can/can't wear. She can read very well. The papers she brings home are all A's, usually 99's and 100's. She is very sweet, tender-hearted and kind. I love my KK and am very proud of the big girl she is becoming.

She has wanted this password Journal for a long time and I told her to start saving her money.  She did, but Aunt Terri came through with the gift so she could save it for something else.  I can't express how happy she was to get this!

My little baby is 4!

Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet Brecken! This kid keeps me on my toes, makes me laugh and still lets me snuggle with her. She is sweet, loving, and funny. She will eat about anything you put in front of her. She loves GG, Grandmama, Granny and Christian Moore (her boyfriend). I love her to pieces and am so proud of her crazy, outgoing, energetic spirit. We had a small party for her at our house. Since she has been playing tball, that's what kind of cake we got. She loved her "party" and for two days after it, she was still telling us thank you. Be still my heart.

So, it's been a month between posts...gotta get better.

My Hero

That's right people. My little sister is my hero. Why? Because she carries a gun. (I got to see her graduate from police academy last weekend and it was of the best days of my life.) I am so proud of her and her accomplishments and I love her very much.

We were able to spend the weekend with Terri and just relax.  We stayed with my cousin, Ashley, and I didn't get one picture.  Sorry Ash.

First day of 1st Grade and Preschool

It doesn't seem possible that Kayden is in 1st grade and Brecken is in preschool. But, they are. This year will definitely be different for me. Brecken will be at school everyday until noon. I haven't been by myself in the morning since before Kayden was born. So weird. The girls were so excited to be starting school. Kayden was a little more nervous, but still glad. We had open house the night before school started. Got our supplies dropped off, found our seats and name tags, and got to see all our friends.

First day of 1st grade and preschool!

Here is an overview of our summer trip to Arkansas and Tennessee. We try to get out that way every year to see family and friends. So, here are a few pics... We went to see the Hicks family first. It is always so relaxing and enjoyable there. The girls love getting to see their cousins! Grandmama and PawPaw always make us very welcome.

The second leg of our trip was to Hot Springs, Arkansas to see my cousin Ashley.  He has a nice place that we haven't been to so it was nice to see him for a few days.
Leg number three was spend in Searcy, Arkansas with Terri.  She had to work some, so we spent a lot of time at the pool.  As always, we love spending time with her!  And I have no idea why we only have one picture...
Our last part of our trip was to Clarksville, to see the Blounts. They just moved into a new house so we got to break it in good for them.  As always, our girls love being together and Kristin and I had lots of time to catch up.  I just love them!

We didn't do a lot this summer other than swim in the pool and hang out.  It was a nice break, and I wasn't ready for school to start. But, it did.  More on that next...

My favorite 6 year old!

The end of school was super busy, but with very exciting events for us. Kayden was selected by her classmates at class favorite for K5. That pretty much means she gets her picture in the yearbook, and at yearbook dedication, she is introduced at favorite. It's a big deal for a kid (and her mom).
We had a quick photo shoot before the ceremony.

Wouldn't dare to leave my sweet B out.
Jake and Kayden, K5 class favorites
At our school, kindergarten had a graduation. It was so fun to get all her ready and see what they had prepared for us. Her Grandma wanted her to have a mani/pedi for her big day, so we did that before the graduation.

All the kids participated in the graduation. Kayden led the audience in the pledge.

Kayden received the highest test scores and was presented with a certificate by Mrs. Stacie
Class of 2024 (yikes!)

I love you KK!

Another reason this year was so special is because Augusta graduated from high school.  We had a get a few pics in their matching caps and gowns.

Ok, that about raps up the first two weeks in May...
